Classic itinerary day-by-day
1. Day one
We will meet you at Corfu airport and transfer you to your hotel in Moraitika on the east coast of the island. Hotel Delfina, where you will spend the first two nights of your holiday, is a quiet beachside luxury hotel with a large swimming pool, a private beach and a tennis court. Let the jolly begin!
2. Day two
Circular ride from Moraitika
Choose a day on the beach or a ride along the coast southwards to discover the picturesque fishing villages of Boukari and Petriti. From here you head inland, finding some rather unspoilt hamlets before emerging on the west coast where you pedal through Korission lake nature reserve. Spot the rare wild flowers if you are visiting in spring and the many birds nesting in the reserve before heading back to the east coast.
Optional 18 or 22 miles (29 or 35 km) per day
3. Day three
Moraitika to Corfu town
Today's ride leads you northwards along the coast, first to Benitses with its alleys and white washed houses and then to the incredibly beautiful Mouse island surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Ionian sea. Pedal to the island via a dam to take a closer look at the Viacherna church. Further on in Kanoni after a short climb you are rewarded with superb views of the island and sea before heading down into Corfu town. Hotel Konstantinoupolis where you will spend the next two nights is located in the very old centre overlooking the old port.
12 miles (20 km)
4. Day four
Corfu old town
Enjoy the World Heritage listed old town today, replete with two Venetian fortresses, an archaeological museum and lovely parks. If you want to visit the so-called Palace of Sissy, there are excursions to Achillion Palace. And for those fancying a boat trip and a swim, there are day cruises from the old port to the small uninhabited island of Vidos.
5. Day five
Corfu town to Paleokastritsa
Heading west to Potamos you cycle inland through quiet rural areas where time seems to have stood still. With a few slopes under your belt you have great views of Pantokrator mountain, the highest on the island and then you can stop for refreshments in Tembloni's cafe in the church. From here its a freewheel to Ropa Ebene and a pedal along rural roads to the seaside village of Liapades and on to Paleokastritsa. Your hotel for the next two nights is the 4* Akrotiri Beach which has been recently renovated, offering a great infinity pool and a sea-view to all!
20 miles (32 km)
6. Day six
Circular ride from Paleokastritsa
There's a nice choice today - a frappé in the traditional village square of Liapades, time on the beach or poolside or a pedal for those feeling energetic. The ride starts with a climb but includes attractive Doukades village and a donkey rescue centre, before returning to Paleokastritsa with its fascinating monastery atop a cliff.
Optional 9 or 14 miles (14 or 23 km)
7. Day seven
Paleokastritsa to Agios Ioannis
After a short climb at the start of the day, the rest of your pedal is through the flat plain of Ropa. The elderly in these villages still wear traditional costume and the vineyards at Theotoki make a fine landscape. Enjoy the beach at Ermones before turning inland and reaching Agios Ioannis - not to be confused with the beach resort! Your overnight stay is in the 200 year old family run Hotel Marida overlooking the village square. Enjoy your last dinner tonight in a typical Greek tavern in this small village.
15 or 18 miles (24 or 29 km)
8. Day eight
Today we say goodbye and transfer you to the airport for your departure.
