Taking a cycling holiday in The Cotswolds is the best way to see this most quintessential English area. The majority of the riding is along quiet country lanes (bike paths are few and far between), which wind their way through honey-coloured villages, over rivers and streams, and past valleys and hills with stunning views. 'Wolds' means 'hills' - so be prepared for the occasional slope, although we have carefully crafted our routes to minimise any steep gradients, so you can focus on enjoying the view and soaking up the atmosphere and culture of the area.
In terms of local highlights, there's world-famous gardens, fantastic organic food shops and Michelin-starred restaurants, cosy classic English pubs serving locally brewed ales, palaces, stately homes, museums, theatres, Roman history, local specialist architecture and more - see below for a selection of our top picks.
