Cycling holidays in Ireland

Ireland is a dreamy place to explore by bike with its stunning scenery and under population. Our cycling holiday here explores the unspoilt and utterly beautiful Connemara region on Ireland’s west coast. Long regarded as the ‘emerald of Ireland’, the landscape here is full of surprises. There’s the rugged Twelve Ben mountain range, lush nature reserves, serene lakes, picturesque fishing villages, remote and pristine sandy beaches, and beyond that, miles and miles of Atlantic ocean stretching as far as the eye can see. The area is also famed for its warm hospitality, and we’ve certainly found some fantastic luxury hotels offering excellent, friendly service and delicious food.

The network of cycle paths and country roads, many of which are very tranquil with cars few and far between, make the region an ideal place to explore by bicycle. There are also some great attractions to visit en route, including Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, Killary Fjord and even Inisbofin Island, where you will stay for one night. Our cycling holiday in Ireland is also a classic example of our ‘gentle cycling’ ethos, with no more than 20 miles a day of cycling. This makes for a leisurely, relaxed holiday.

Diamond Hill

So called because quartz in the rock makes it sparkle, and situated in Connemara National Park, the view from the top of the 12 Bens (mountains) is worth the hike.

Guinness

An Irish icon since 1759, it takes just under 2 seconds to pour the perfect pint, and it really does taste better in Ireland - you have been warned!
