East and West Sussex are a lesser-known corner of southern England, easily reachable from London and immensely beautiful. From east to west, Sussex is dotted with ample castles and boasts a plethora of wonderful famous gardens. Its a land of picturesque villages and rural scenes, ever multiplying vineyards, many charming old buildings and more sunshine than anywhere else in the U.K. We love its array of varied and characterful hotels and old inns and its many historical nudges from the Neolithic and Roman times to 20th Century writers and arttists, but most of all we love its sheer beauty.
