Mallorca is a wonderfully attractive island offering so much that is unspoilt and historic along with a very attractive coastline and some beaches that are delightfully uncrowded. On this cycling holiday, you will discover this authentic side of Mallorca and with a cycling itinerary that's pretty laid back you will have oodles of time to relax in wonderful luxury boutique hotels.

The tour leads you coast to coast from Cap Blanc on the south coast to Cala Mesquida in the northeast. Enjoy vineyard tastings, salt mines and a land of walled olive, cherry and almond groves. Soak up the sun alongside dreamy pools with long views and in sandy inlets. Pedal traffic-free along disused railways to explore the historic small towns of Santanyi, Arta and Capdepera. And hear the silence as you traverse the inland wilds of tiny lanes. Never far away though are great wines and inspiring food. This is Mallorca in style!

Almost all the cycling days are gentle, many are optional and a couple have a few hills. Opt for an E-bike and the entire trip is a breeze!

Itinerary day-by-day

Luxury

  1. 1. Day one

    Arrive Zoetry

Let us meet you at Palma airport for a transfer to your hotel in Llucmajor just 30 minutes from Palma Airport and yet deep in the countryside. Relax in this former grand family home with its extensive grounds, an indoor spa and 2 outdoor pools, tennis courts, a windmill and even a chapel and enjoy the first of your two nights here.

  2. 2. Day two

    Zoetry circular ride

Your bikes will be delivered after breakfast when your Host will brief you. Your first full day on the island gives you the option of relaxing poolside at the hotel or taking a ride through the unspoilt countryside of Mallorca to the coast. Enroute you can enjoy visits to a unique collection of local sites; check out 1600 fig trees and their remarkable products and explore a 3000 year old historical excavation of limestone structures. Take the longer route if you want to picnic at the cliffs and loll around in the sea spray. Whatever you decide to do, you can also enjoy a tour and tasting at the Bordoy vineyard just around the corner from your hotel.

    Optional 15 or 21 miles (24 or 34 km)

  3. 3. Day three

    Zoetry to Ses Salines

Heading east, you freewheel downhill or on the flat for most of the day, wandering through a rural patchwork of walled arable land and olive groves. Civilisation and refreshment arrives as you reach the coast at Sa Rapita with its bars and tiny marina and beach where you can enjoy a splash. Pedalling on, pick up an artisanal cheese at an award winning family dairy or tour a local salt production spot before arriving in the small town of Ses Salines where you stay the next two nights in a glorious manor house.

    24 miles 38 km

  4. 4. Day four

    Ses Salines circular ride

Today you can soak up the sun by the pool in your hotel or enjoy a choice of gentle rides. Santanyi is one of Mallorca’s most fascinating and delightful towns and the shorter ride weaves you through its cobbled and often narrow streets and square taking in some lovely shops and characterful old buildings and cafes. For those keen to explore further, pedal on through the occasional village to the unspoilt coast at Far del Cap Salines for a picnic on the rocks in the shadow of the lighthouse. All options enable the green fingered to discover the Botanical garden in Ses Salines with its many cactii and Mallorcan fruits and flora.

    Optional 10 or 21 miles (16 or 34 km)

  5. 5. Day five

    Ses Salines to Son Mas

Get lost - in the best sense, in peaceful inland Mallorca as you ride rural back lanes, the occasional dirt road and a few hills. Today's the day to have your binoculars handy to spot some of the island's many rare and wonderful birds. You are in the wilds and pass just two villages and a single leafy squared town where a pleasant lunch stop can be had. Climb the endless steps to the church before heading off to your hotel in the countryside for the next 2 nights

    25 miles (40 km)

  6. 6. Day six

    Son Mas circular ride

Son Mas has a gorgeous pool and garden so a day out of the saddle would be a dream. But if you are keen to ride, this is a route not to miss. The ever so pretty circular ride is a gem and meanders along wooded slopes and through a patchwork of walled arable fields and old fruit tree groves. The intimate landscape is dotted with farms whilst there are great lunch spots in the little village of Son Macia. You will love this pedal!

    Optional 17 or 19 miles (27 or 30 km)

  7. 7. Day seven

    Son Mas to Capdepera

A great day of cycling lies ahead! Much of the route is traffic free as you pedal a disused rural railway line soaring across embankments with great views. This takes you to stylish Arta – one of our all time favourite small towns with boutique shops, leafy lined high street and characterful architecture. From here it’s a short hop to historic Capdepera and your overnight farmhouse stay for the last 2 nights just beyond. On occasions it may be possible to stay in the town if you wish. At the start of the day you have a choice of riding along the coastal bike path or heading inland on the more direct route joining the rail line a little sooner.

    28 or 31 miles (45 or 50 km)

  8. 8. Day eight

    Capdepera circular ride

Your final day offers a wonderful choice of a gentle ride to one or two small sandy beaches and to Capdepera too if you want to explore the castle and local shops there further. Or there again, you might just like an utterly relaxing day around the pool or on your terrace.

Optional up to 12 miles (19 km)

  9. 9. Day nine

    Depart Capdepera

Full of fresh Mallorcan tastes and authentic stylish sights, depart at leisure and we will organise a transfer to Palma airport.
