Walking holidays in Dorset & The New Forest

Home to almost 200,000 acres of stunning forest and heathland, the New Forest is one of Britain’s most unspoilt natural habitats with special qualities, including the freedom to ramble across unenclosed land. Created as a royal forest by William I in about 1079, it was made a National Park in 2002. Adjacent to this are the unspoilt, very English landscapes of Dorset where the dramatic Jurassic coast and wonderful sandy beaches abut rolling farmland sheltering ancient rural villages beloved by authors as varied as Enid Blyton and Thomas Hardy.

Both these authors feature in our wonderful walks in the area which include cliff top rambling to the fascinating Durdle Door, carved into the coast by the English Channel sea and river saunters to the churches and villages that have inspired many over the years.
